This special Dinner will honor CRC staff and their 5, 10, 15, 20, and 20+ years of service. Plans are underway, and invitations will go out soon!

2011 Flex Spending Account

Information will be coming out in mid October to sign up for the 2011 Flex Spending Account. This program allows you to save pre-tax dollars through payroll deduction that can be used to reimburse qualified medical expenses and/or childcare expenses. Detailed enrollment information will be available.

Take Your Child to Work

Amazing! 43 children registered for Take Your Kid to Work Day. We shared an incredible day with the children and grandchildren of our CRC staff.

Our day together began with pancakes, sausage, a little chocolate milk, and a very special focus group discussion with our President / CEO John Thorhauer related to future planning for the CRC Campus. By 8:00 AM, we were touring campus. Physical Therapy, Dining Services, Health Services, Environmental Services, our Business Office and the Washtenaw Community College classroom each welcomed us into their department for an inside peak on their day to day operations. The morning finished with a presentation from the Howell Nature Center. This was an opportunity to learn some cool facts about birds of prey and mammals, pet some furry little friends, and watch a volunteer use some adaptive items to feel first hand what it might feel like to actually be an owl!

After lunch we headed over to Towsley Village for some fun in the sun! Residents came out to watch the children in relay races, and a water balloon toss!

Last, but certainly not least we were honored by a visit from some local heros. Chelsea Fire Department had their truck on site, and handed out fire hats, while the Chelsea K9 unit, had their dog. It was fun to watch the children try on different uniforms, ask questions, share stories and smiles with these guests!

Employee Picnic

Travis the YoYo Expert, Colors the Clown, a huge blow up slide, and bouncy house, all while a live DJ played music, cotton candy, face painting, tattoos, and our very own Dining Services grilled some fabulous food for all the share!

Although the last few minutes of our picnic turned to rain, there was plenty of time for fun and smiles! We had a great turn out for this annual event.

CRC truly is a fabulous place to work, and to have the opportunity to share this special day with family and coworkers, was an absolute blessing.
